The GreenSeeker Hand Held Data Collection and Mapping Unit is a crop research and consulting tool that provides useful data to determine Normalized Difference Vegetative Index (NDVI) and Red to Near Infrared Ratios. These data points can be used in conjunction with other agronomic references to index basic nutrient response, crop condition, yield potential, stress, pest and disease impact in a quantitative objective manner. The unit can be used to monitor changing field (crop, plant) conditions during the growing season and/or the effects of different levels of an input compared to a local standard.

The GreenSeeker Hand Held utilizes NTech's second-generation optical sensor. The unit's optical sensor captures the light reflectance of plants. The microprocessor circuit board analyzes the plant's reflected light. The data that is collected with the sensor can be downloaded to a personal computer in a text format that can be accessed by Microsoft Excel.
